None of the software downloaded from the Monoprice website worked for me. Capturing happens in real time – so if you want to copy a 3 hour video – it takes three hours makes sense. Is this the one I need? Monopric searching and reading about all the various options, components, software, etc I had no idea what would be best for me to buy.

When I tried capturing video from a composite source, it would capture seconds of video and then monopride stop. It’s easy with this to walk away while a 4 hour VHS tape plays and come back to a 4 hour video file. Despite the documentation saying that I could only install it on only one machine, I was able to register the application again on my Windows 10 machine I saw the input video again, but this time no audio.

I bought this a few months ago and works great. Long cables so you have minoprice reach. If you have a composite or svideo output on your N64 then yes you can display the video output from your N64 on your computer and record the video. Sometimes I changed between two VCRs to solve trabber playback compatibility problem. Auto-resync would have been nice, but at this price I can’t dock more than half a star for that.
