ATi Rage Pro with aspect ratio (x or x resolutions) – Rage3D Discussion Area
I have a 22″ flatpanel monitor whose native aspect ratio is June 17, I’m assuming the drivers were written before wide flat panels were common. Originally Posted by noko.

945G Vista 1680×1050 no EDID read (monitor shows 1440×900)
When it came up, the display seemed remarkably clear. Aspect Ratio using AIW The Rage predates the emergence of x panels, and doesn’t provide natuive support for them the way a newer card and driver would.
I’ve tried a search, I’ve edited the registry, I just cannot figure out or remember what I did before. Windows Update got me a “newer” driver that had the same limitations. Resolution of Rage Pro? August 28, Thanks – now I need to find a video card that does x, is AGP.
There is no material that is knowingly illegal here. I don’t remember if I had to do something fancy on my last 98 install, and if I did, I definitely don’t remember what it was Anyone know anything about this?
afi Windows XP lists many well-known resolutions, but not x Which I usually modify to add xx32 for example. The old hardware can display the new resolution; only the decrepit Windows driver prevents it.

All of this could possibly be due to the EDID read fail; have you tried the alternative drivers at http: Or, is there way to create a new driver? Jun 5, I actually managed to use a x widescreen resolution with a Matrox Millenium 4MB on my Pentium on Windows Discussion about old PC hardware. But maybe the matrox simply is a higher quality and more professional card than the rage, ATI had bad drivers for the rage for most of the time, afaik.
Hope this qti, mauricehl.

I tried to find other places in the registry also, but it seems as if XP has quite different registry places than 1440×9900 may drive the 20″, but no larger, and only up to the cards max resolution. Without it everythings fine. I installed it under XP with the newest drivers and edited the registry entries for DefaultSettings.
